Since I was knee high to a grasshopper I have drawn, created and found joy and a sense of escapism in it. I have fond memories of laying on my grandparents floor drawing all sorts of imaginary creatures. Today in my illustration work imaginary creatures remain and to this day you will still find me on my studio floor drawing and painting away.

My work is a culmination of my studies in Fine Art, Illustration, a career as HCPC Art Psychotherapist and recently pivoting into the world of gardening.

In 2025 I returned to painting after nearly 20 years away from picking up a paintbrush. Finding my way back to painting after 20 years felt daunting and exciting. Grappling with a paintbrush, arranging my thoughts around what or who an artist is and if I fitted that mould.

As I delved further into my practice I started to write poetry, a way to express a sense of feelings being stuck, stagnated, words that had been lost over time that needed to expressed. Poetry was not something I had written before but is soon became integral to my painting practice.

My paintings are monochromatic, intended to simplify what can often feel so complicated. A way of finding a voice in the simplest form. The white space becoming just as integral as the black ink, speaking to what is often left unsaid. Held in the spaces in-between, giving a voice allowing it to take up space.

I work from my studio in East Lothian, where I lose all concept of time. When not in the studio you will find me out in nature, wandering with my big hound Sil or again lost in time in my garden.
